Don’t judge!

Never judge anyone because you never know what kind of battle he or she is fighting. No wonder Jonathan Harnisch quipped:”the strongest people are not those who show strength infront of the world but those who fight and win battles that others do not know about.” Someone once said “ walk a mile in my shoes, see what I see, feel what I feel, then maybe you’ll understand why I do what I do. Until then don’t judge.” Determine never to judge others without finding out the reason behind their actions. Never draw hasty conclusions even when you think you have close evidence. Give everyone you meet the benefit of the doubt; time will reveal who they are and why they do what they do.

Focus on the future.

It is easier said than done: forgetting the past! Millions are trapped in the fear that anything familiar is safe. The past seems familiar while the future looks risky. Isaiah 43:18 says that you should forget the past in order to make progress. Tomorrow is a promissory note based on the God who owns the future and the past! Robert Browing wrote”A minute success pays the failure of yesteryears.” Your ugly past will be so beautiful! Yes there shall be beauty of ashes and you will fly with eagles! Determine to map a new plan of action of your life instead of dwelling in the past. May God give you fresh determination to disconnect yourself from the past no matter how glorious or gloomy it was. Some people need to forget the past and forgive themselves! Don’t die in your past mess or losses. Learn from the past because those who cannot remember the mistakes of the past are condemned to repeat them. Every ceiling when reached becomes a floor to higher ceilings! Fear not! Pray for strength t...

Be determined!

Many times we read and hear of great personalities that have made a difference in their generation. We often see them as larger than life portraits, or as supermen. We read of the prophets and patriarchs! We read of Joseph, Moses and Bill Gate. Catch this fact about them; they were like us, they were not angels but they determined to quit in their various life battles! They ate, often got tired, discouraged, got married, had children, some got divorced, went through financial trials and even temporary failure! Thomas Edison who discovered the electric bulb was deaf and he was a newspaper  vendor on trains! Charles Dickens was lame! Plato was a hunchback! Billy Graham was disappointed many times before he could find a life partner and lots more. Collection of the names in the hall of fame of Hebrews 11 shows that they were men of passion like us. If they could make it then everyone can make it in life. When troubles show up always remember the words of Paul Harvey ; “ In times like ...

Forgiveness

There are two things that love does;Love gives and love forgives. When you reach to someone in forgiveness, it doesn’t mean that you approve of what he or she has done. It doesn’t mean that you want them to do it again. Reaching out in forgiveness means that you value the love that God has for the person and you want a channel through which that love will flow to them. Holding on to hurt and wishing or praying that something bad happens to the person that has hurt you is like drinking poison and hoping that another person dies. Unforgiveness is poison. You are the one it hurts not the person that has hurt you. God says Vengeance is mine! Vengeance is not yours! Unforgiveness is an emotional take over authority from God. It is ascending to God’s throne to make yourself a judge! You are not the one who should dictate  consequences for those who sinned against you. Let go and let God be the judge.
